Dear Covenant Community,
Along with the Session, I am delighted to introduce Rev. Sally Foster as our new part-time Pastor/Consultant for Community Connections and Outreach. Sally brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to our mission, and we are thrilled to have her join our ministry team.
In her new role, Sally will play a crucial part in several key areas:
1. Supporting the Transition to a Permanent Building Professional: Sally will work closely with our volunteers and staff to ensure a smooth transition to a permanent, part-time building professional. Her expertise will help us maintain the high standards of care and management that our building deserves while in transition.
2. Managing Projects: During her tenure, Sally will oversee various projects related to our building. Serving with Building & Grounds Committee, she will support volunteers to ensure these initiatives are well-coordinated and aligned with our overall goals.
3. Liaising with Tenants and Community Members: Sally will serve as a key point of contact for our tenants and community members. She will support our volunteers and step in as needed to foster strong relationships with new and existing partners.
4. Expanding Our Sense of Mission Through Building Use: One of Sally’s goals is to work with the Mission Committee to better understand our sense of mission in relationship to the building. How does the way we use our building reflect our sense of God’s call.
5. Worship Duties: As a newly ordained minister with chaplaincy experience, Sally is looking forward to learning more about congregational ministry. Sally will worship with us two times a month, engaging in leadership and pastoral care on various occasions.
We are confident in Sally’s call from God and for this church community. And we know that Sally’s skills, passion and dedication will greatly enhance our life together, especially in the areas of building ministry and community connections. Please join me in welcoming Sally and offering your support and prayers as she begins her new role.
In Christ,
Jamie Butcher
